Paige Kirstein — Communications Director
Paige Kirstein is the Communications Director for emPOWER and lead coordinator for Beyond the Bottle. She is a Junior concentrating in Economics who also loves cognitive science and industrial design. She plays on the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team and is active in Hillel, the center for Jewish life on campus. Paige initially got involved in emPOWER through Beyond the Bottle because she was excited to work towards a measurable goal and make a change that positively affects the environment and communities around the world. She loves having the opportunity to meet folks from all around the environmental community at Brown.
Ben Howard
Ben Howard began his involvement with emPower with the CCURB project Pump It Up!  In his time at emPower, Ben has co-founded Beyond the Bottle, SCRAP, and the Environmental Events group.  He has also been involved with the Campus Climate group through his role as Sustainability Intern for Facilities Management.  Starting this semester, Ben is the co-social chair of emPower, and is looking forward to strengthening the social aspect that is necessary in environmental activism.

Danielle Dahan
Danielle is senior studying Engineering with a focus in energy conversion and sustainability. She has been involved in emPower since her freshman year, when she led Focus the Nation, a week-long teach-in on climate change. Since then, Danielle has been active in the Community Carbon Use Reduction at Brown (“CCURB”), a grant fund for carbon reduction projects in the Providence Community. She also leads a fuel-efficiency CCURB project, Pump it Up, which aims to increase consumer awareness on the benefits of proper tire inflation and other simple fuel-efficient tips. Danielle is the emPower representative for Brown’s Energy and Environmental Advisory Committee as well as for the Executive Committee of the Rhode Island Sierra Club. Danielle is also a financial signatory of emPower, so feel free to contact her on any funding-related questions.
